So besides having our team Christmas lunch yesterday, my boss officially announced that he is going on for secondment for at least six months as from January.
So it will definitely be New Year, new changes, as the only thing we know for sure about what will happen to us is that we will now be looked after by another director in our group. Any of the finer details haven't been discussed yet. Which isn't exactly end of the world stuff but a bit worrying considering that 75% of my role is looking after a person who isn't going to be around.

A bit of good work-related news is that our annual pay rise has been agreed and will start this month (backdated to July)! So I see a minishopping spree in my future.

I have decided that next year there will be no Secret Santa for the team, given the level of confusion this has caused them this year - whether to put a label on the present if it's meant to be secret, what to write on the label and so on.

To date I've really like having an automatic garage door. It's nice not to have to lift it up and down every time I go out.

However, it's not so good when the fucking thing goes kaput and my car's stuck inside it.

It looks like it's going to be the train for me tomorrow.

So watched the BBC coverage of Reading and Jonny and Andy from Razorlight were being interviewed. Now have I missed some slashy gossip about them? They spent the whole 5 minutes or so huddled up on the sofa with hands clutching each others thighs!

Also, the story of how they met their physical masseur (with 'magic hands') in 'one of those bars' in Hamburg sounds like a good one to hear in full.

I think I may have found a new show - The Wire.
I'm only 4 eps in but I'm hooked and if it keeps up to the current standards then I am going to be very happy for the 4/5 seasons I have left.

I've watched the first 2 episodes of Heroes and although I enjoyed them, I can't say that I'm hooked yet.

I'm currently under the influence of a couple of glasses of wine. Which considering how much wine turns me into a total lightweight is probably not the best plan for a Sunday evening. I totally blame the wine I had yesterday for eating 4 Cornettos in under 12 hours (though to be fair, I had eaten 3 before I started drinking!). Still it was definitely the wine to blame for the dreams I had about my work colleagues. Nice enough guys but do not what to think of them in relation to anything sexual!

Joy of joys, the new Cabinet shuffle means that the Government department wehich my organisation currently reports to is being split into two new departments. So, yet again, there is much undertainty over what will happen to us.

I seriously must consider getting out of the public sector. It can't seem to go a year without some kind of re-shaping going on.

Still at it is Friday.
